After the initial evaluation of the technique in the pool and in open water, the appropriate drills are suggested in order to improve as well as to eliminate technical shortcomings. Increase the feeling of the”catch” of the water and then, or at the same time, cultivate the athlete’s physical condition.
Appropriate training interventions are also made to modify the technique to the specifics of open water.
If the technique level is considered satisfactory, a field test is performed to determine the training intensities.
Special emphasis on the technique will bring about a dramatic improvement of energy economy.
